This a now slightly redundant analysis I wrote weeks ago but never got around to posting. The news has toned-down its coverage of the spill since then, focusing instead on more cheerful BP-related shenanigans. Like the release of the Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi in August last year.
